Brown Law Group, a leading business litigation firm that specializes in all aspects of employment law and business litigation, is pleased to announce that Robert D. Wilson III and Travis K. Jang-Busby have joined the firm as Associate Attorneys.

Wilson comes to Brown Law Group from Gordon & Rees where he served as senior counsel. In this capacity, Wilson represented management and employers in employment-related claims before courts and administrative agencies throughout California. He provided legal counsel on the obligations arising from federal, state and local statutory provisions. His work also included litigation of individual employment cases, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, Jones Act/maritime injuries and complex wage and hour class actions from case inception through final resolution. Among Wilson’s published decisions is Brinker Restaurant Corp. v. Superior Court (Hohnbaum) (2012) 53 Cal.4th 1004 which is the landmark California Supreme Court wage and hour decision addressing the proper interpretation of California’s meal and rest period statutes.

In the area of corporate litigation, Wilson provided legal counsel on a broad range of business matters, with an emphasis on employment law in the context of business transactions and disputes.

Wilson earned his law degree from Albany Law School of Union University. He counsels and defends employers in a range of industries including retail, manufacturing, medical, hospitality, and professional services, among others.

Travis K. Jang-Busby joins Brown Law Group after serving at San Diego Law Corporation where he prosecuted national and statewide class actions under FLSA and the California Labor Code. In addition, Jang-Busby prosecuted and defended complex representative actions under the Private Attorneys General Act, and investigated, defended and prosecuted claims for discrimination, wrongful termination and retaliation. He worked closely with clients to generate pragmatic and effective case plans.

Previously with Brennan Law Group (formerly David & Turner), Jang-Busby managed the firm’s litigation, primarily in the areas of labor and employment. He represented plaintiffs and defendants in claims including but not limited to: Title VII, Title IX, FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA, Wage-Hour, Labor Code and PAGA from pre-litigation through trial or ADR Investigation of violations of state and federal labor laws, civil codes and government codes.

At the Law Offices of Gerald Smith, he served as an attorney in the area of civil litigation and criminal defense where he managed the firm’s litigation cases, primarily consumer rights and employment actions. As an employment litigation attorney with the Law Offices of Laura Farris,
Jang-Busby represented plaintiffs and defendants in claims including, but not limited to: FEHA, FMLA, CFRA, ADA and the labor code from pre-litigation through trial or ADR.

Jang-Busby earned his law degree from California Western School of Law, where he was an honors instructor in the area of legal research and writing.
