Experience:

Brown Law Group: San Diego, CA

Partner, September 2012 to Present

Mr. Woods defends employers in all areas of employment-related litigation, including claims of wrongful termination, retaliation, discrimination, sexual harassment, breach of contract, and violations of wage and hour laws. Mr. Woods handles labor and employment matters at both the state and federal level, as well as before administrative agencies such as the NLRB, EEOC, DFEH and DLSE. In addition, Mr. Woods represents employers in areas of traditional labor law, including grievance arbitrations, unfair labor practice charges, union contract negotiations and other union-related matters.

Jordan Law Group: San Rafael, CA

Associate, February 2011 – July 2012

Prior to joining Brown Law Group, Mr. Woods worked at the Jordan Law Group, a management-side labor and employment law firm, defending clients in labor and employment-related claims in federal and California state courts, the NLRB, EEOC, DFEH and DLSE, and in labor related grievance arbitrations. He also counseled clients on labor & employment law matters, including union contract negotiations and union organizing campaigns.

Brayton Purcell, LLP: Novato, CA

Summer Associate/Associate, August 2009 – February 2011

Mr. Woods initially worked for Brayton Purcell as a Summer Associate and was subsequently offered a position at the firm as an associate attorney shortly before graduating from law school. While an associate at Brayton, Mr. Woods practiced general civil litigation on behalf of clients in both state and federal court. Mr. Woods served as the firm’s point person on its Multidistrict Litigation cases venued in the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

While attending law school, Mr. Woods was a full-time judicial extern for United States Magistrate Judge Bernard Zimmerman in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California. Also while attending law school, Mr. Woods externed in Region 20 of the National Labor Relations Board.

Personal & Community Interests:

Mr. Woods is a member of the State Bar of California’s Labor & Employment Law Section. In his spare time, Mr. Woods enjoys running, playing/watching sports, San Diego Craft Beer, cooking, and generally spending time with his wife, two kids, and Labrador Retriever.
