BRYCE CLARK BESSER

Mr. Besser’s practice focuses on labor and employment law and general civil litigation. He has represented clients in the defense of various employment law claims including discrimination, retaliation, and wrongful termination. Mr. Besser has also counseled clients in trade secrets litigation, contracts disputes, and various tort disputes.

Caufield & James, LLP

Associate, June 2005-December 2009

Prior to joining Brown Law Group, Mr. Besser worked at Caufield & James, LLP in the areas of general civil and environmental litigation. He represented clients in both the prosecution and defense of cost recovery and contribution actions under CERCLA, RCRA, and federal and state statutes. Mr. Besser also counseled clients in insurance coverage disputes, trade secret litigation, contract disputes, landlord and tenant issues, and real property disputes.

Mr. Besser is admitted to the California Supreme Court, the Northern, Central, Eastern, and Southern Federal District Courts of California, and the United States Supreme Court.

As a third year law student Mr. Besser completed a judicial internship with the Honorable Richard Haden (ret.) in the San Diego Superior Court.

Publications:

Mr. Besser has authored articles for various legal publications including an article titled “Justices Weigh in on Employee Privacy Issues” featured in the Los Angeles Daily Journal and an article entitiled “Court of Appeals Finds E-mails from Employee to Attorney Not Protected by Privilege” featured in the San Diego Daily Transcript. Mr. Besser authored and presented an informational session for the San Diego County Bar titled “Potentially Responsible Parties and CERCLA 107(A): The Ability of PRP”s to Recover Response Costs From Other PRP”s in the Ninth Circuit.

Personal & Community Interests:

Mr. Besser serves on the California Western School of Law Alumni Board. He is also a member of the American Inns of Court, San Diego County Bar Association, and Lawyers Club of San Diego.

In his spare time, Mr. Besser can be seen with his camera shooting around the San Diego area. Mr. Besser has displayed his photography at various shows in Pacific Beach, Downtown, and at the State Bar”s Annual Meeting. Mr. Besser also enjoys football, snowboarding, traveling, music, and movies.
